2015 is going to be a big year for mtp – not only are we about to embark on a UK tour
with Noel & Gertie, we are also celebrating our 10th birthday!

Mtp was launched by Matthew Townshend in 2005 in order to tour the 50th anniversary
production of the classic British musical Salad Days which starred Vicki Michelle.

And since then the company has gone from strength to strength, taking both small scale
and number one productions on tour and working on a range of different projects
including community and young peoples’ drama and peer education programmes.

Other plans for 2015, alongside the nationwide tour of Noel & Gertie include an
ambitious initiative in our native Tendring District in Essex where, subject to gaining
funding, we will be staging an outdoor performance of the Merry Wives of Windsor in
conjunction with Tendring District Council.

Matthew commented on reaching the milestone: “We are going to make sure our 10th
year is the best! We have some ambitious plans but we’ll work hard to ensure they all
fall into place and will be fantastic family entertainment.”

Mtp has started the new year with the unveiling of a new website – so browse around
and see what else we have been up to over the last 10 years!
