Booking is now open for the open air performances of ‘The Merry Wives’ taking place on 6 and 7 June across three venues in Frinton.
Entry to the performances are free to the public, but those intending to come along to enjoy the open air shows are urged to book, so organisers can ensure there is enough room for everyone.
The performance starts off in the grounds of St Mary’s Church at 4.30pm (gates will open at 4pm), moving to the Free Church 5.30pm and on to the Greensward 6.30pm. The show is due to end at approximately 7.00pm. It will be staged on both the Saturday and Sunday.
‘Merry Wives’, which is being staged by Matthew Townshend Productions with support from Tendring District Council, is an adaptation of Shakespeare’s classic ‘Merry Wives of Windsor’.
John D Collins (best known for his role as Lieutenant Fairfax in the BBC’s well-loved comedy ‘Allo ‘Allo!) has been cast in the lead role of larger-than-life Falstaff and he will be joining a cast of other professional and local performers including local school children.
Matthew Townshend said of the event: “We are really excited to be putting on such an exciting and different performance of a classic; taking people on a physical journey through three beautiful Frinton settings. It will be a riotous evening of entertainment for all the family – bring along a picnic and blanket, and enjoy Shakespeare as you’ve never seen it before!”
Those who want to attend should book online via www.ticketsource.co.uk or by calling 01394 385022 to guarantee their places.
