A Norfolk theatre show is offering discounted tickets to families in response to the ongoing cost of living crisis.

Matthew Townshend, director of Theatre on the Coast, is offering cut prices to families across Norfolk to see his latest production, Summer Holiday.

The production is based on the 1963 Cliff Richard blockbuster of the same name and perfectly captures the magic of a British seaside summer holiday.

A family ticket (two adults and two children) for Saturday’s matinee show (August 27) has been reduced to just £25, less than half the usual price of £55.

Adult tickets will also be reduced to £7.50.

Matthew said: “This has been a really difficult summer for everyone, with rising bills stopping families from enjoying the best of the glorious sunshine on offer.

“We want everyone to experience the magic of a summer holiday and know how great a day out at the theatre can be.

“We are not only blessed to have an incredibly talented cast performing in such a stunning venue, but be only a stone’s throw from the beach in the true home of the British summertime.”

The travelling theatre show has previously stopped at the new Big Barn Theatre in Reydon, Suffolk, before spending five nights at Sheringham Little Theatre.

Audiences have praised the production for its “very talented cast” who have put on “amazing” performances.

Debbie Thompson, theatre director at Sheringham Little Theatre and St George’s Theatre, added: “We have had such wonderful feedback on this show and have been flooded with lovely messages from our audiences. But we really want to see more families come along and join in the fun.

“We know how hard it has been for parents in Norfolk and hope this cut-price offering will provide them with some good old-fashioned family fun.

“Tickets are quickly running out, so now is the time to secure your seats!”

Cllr Graham Plant, Mayor of Gt Yarmouth, added: “The cast and the talents they displayed were awesome.

“Their excellent singing voices, coupled with multiple talents on instruments, made for a very recognisable and entertaining evening, taking me back to my youth.

“I would recommend this show to people of all ages – a very enthusiastic, entertaining and vibrant atmosphere.

“This is a must-see experience – well done to managers, cast and crew.”

Limited tickets remain available for performances throughout the week before the show’s final performance on Saturday evening.
